They were called ‘Constructor Masters’. They knew how to handle the consistency of the stones, how to cut and square them out, how to give them a shape and some elegance. They knew about this stones so well that those one became ‘live elements’ to define spaces and emotions.
Stones that, like magnificent notes played from an organ, became characteristic ‘live’ elements in Cathedrals and Churches, with a ravishing touch of Roman and Gothic scenery and rising magnificently with a solemn and sacred character in the normality of the other buildings in the cities.
That’s what come out in my mind when entering the room where Giuseppe Marcadent has collected all his particular original and fine artworks.
He’s defining himself an “Artisan Master”, as the ones that were “Constructor Masters”. Artisan because all his attention is turning on materials quality and on the vital forms engraved into the artwork.

The black and the gold, the square into the square, the stripes shaped in a perpendicular position, the high-temperature fire adventures, the roar of the water and other incredible shapes. The black is a mystery full of infinite things. It has the substance of the fundamental colours. It has the abyssal depth and the capacity to sustain huge events. As the womb’s ability to give life. The crossing of the parlous black by a golden stripe causes an enormous emotion, like a glorious and victorious march.
The gold has a limitless warm brightness. Its substance has abyssal depth like the black. When the abstract and substantial black is invaded by a gold field (which is immense and incommensurable) is creating the potential to expand the shapes of everything to the infinity.

“The Ark”, a mysterious object with an harmonic composition due to its lines and symmetries, it’s a still incomplete object until is not subject to a kind of “violence” caused by a water-fire game. The water thrown on the high temperature produces a solid and multicoloured piece with an indescribable beauty. It’s the ‘Copper Matt’, a poetically indescribable heroic shape.
