Ceramic Artisan-ship

The course aims to give You the knowledge elements of the Trentino Region ceramic traditions and to gain the capacity to independently apply the modern modelling and decoration techniques to the point of being able to produce Your own ceramic manufactures, meeting with the elaboration project path.

Contents

• introduction to the course and ceramic history in Trentino hint
• classification of ceramic products, main manual techniques, tools, questions and answers session
• modelling of a round bowl with the pinch technique and the round ball technique; introduction to the decoration technique with imprint, engraving and drilling
• modelling of a round vase with ‘colombino’ (coiling) technique and different types of clay
• modelling of a box with potential lid, using the plate technique
• presentation of the various decoration techniques: engobe, wax and tempera, glaze and crystalline
• decoration of the course products, use of the oven and cooking diagram
• estimation of the final product, final considerations and  various interactive display material (books and footages)
